Beckoning Wind, Becoming Fire

A Celebration of Pentecost as the birth of Sophia Christ and the church as the People of Goddess

A ceremony of soul connection, Wisdom sharing and ecstatic embodiment

Earth-rattling winds.  Tongues of fire.  A people transformed by profound Presence.  A reckoning with the dying of all that was, and the birth of the glittering new, inviting them– and us– to become embodied love.

This was, and IS, the descent of Sophia, the Christ.

What relevance does the ancient feast of Pentecost have for our lives today?

How are we, too, being called to reckon with the rising energetics of earth, co-mingled with the death throes of empire, that just might rebirth us into a whole new way of being?  How might grief and loss, interwoven with the Biggest Love, be the medicine that moves us there?

Join us for a mini-retreat steeped in ancient wisdom, made new for us today, in the ever-new Love of the Divine Feminine Christ.

Exploring and Expanding the Mysteries of Christ with the Big Love of the Divine Feminine

What to expect...

Prayer & Practice

Like all Interweave retreats, this mini-retreat will be steeped in prayer and practice.  So much more than theory or ideas, you'll get to embody the concepts, feel them in your body, and put it all into tangible practice.  This is rooted in a spirituality that can be immediately applied to your life!

Teaching & Transmission

We'll take the ancient stories of Scripture and reinterpret them for our times, through an inclusive, feminist, and embodied lens.  We ask what relevance they have for today.  We move within and around these teachings as mythical portals-- giving us Wisdom for our contemporary lives.

Wisdom Sharing

We practice being incarnational community by sharing stories and insights, always optional for each person.  We gain and grow so much in the ways we are woven!  We practice being circle together, healing codependency and growing as interdependent beings.

Ecstatic Embodiment

Because it's Pentecost, the descent of Sophia Christ, we will practice together through dance.  This is less what we think of as "dance" and more movement-- each one is free to engage it as they are comfortable.  We will have about a 45 minute session of practice in this way-- following the ecstatic energies of our humanity to move, heal and discover.  (Erin is a long-time facilitator of a movement modality called "SoulDance"-- you are in good hands!)

Bringing Her back to him, in culture and consciousness.

In the early days after the death of Jesus, when "resurrection" was still a question in the minds of those who knew him, there was a lot of fear and unknown.  Those who loved him were doing their best to come to terms with a whole new reality.  They experienced him shapeshifting between heaven and earth, body and soul, spirit and matter.  Appearing to them and disappearing, he called them to not just speculate, but participate, become this embodied love that could walk through time and space.

The women-- practiced in priestessing portals of transformation, the thresholds of life and death-- deeply understood.  They were already living these liminal spaces in their bodies.  They knew somatically what it was to call heaven to earth and offer earth to heaven.

At the feast we now call Pentecost, the women-- Mother Mary, Mary Magdalene, and others-- presided over a profoundly transformational moment in the early Christ movement.  Their hearts and souls serving as lightning rods of love,  plugged into the ancient prayers of the earth, they witnessed the wonder of the rebirth of Sophia Christ-- and HER profound potential to transform the world.

They remembered who they were, and reminded each other, and us, millennia later, what it is to not just worship, but to BECOME the body of Sophia Christ.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this retreat for women only?

No.  This retreat is open to all, but is a "femme forward" space.  What does this mean?  Men, if you choose to come, please do so consciously and humbly. Please be ready to take a back seat and allow the women and non-binary folks to take up more space than you. This is also an invitation for all of us to allow the feminine inside us to move forward in our insides and maybe on the outside-- those attributes and qualities of our humanity that may be feeling exiled, left out or less than. If your heart is thudding, maybe there's something to feel. If your voice is trembling, maybe there's something to say. We enter the sovereignty of our feminine, the birth of Sophia Christ within us, with courage, grace and trust.

Is this retreat for Christians?

This retreat is rooted in the Wisdom tradition of the Christ lineage, but you don't have to identify as Christian to attend.  Folks of all or no religious or spiritual persuasions are welcome.

Do I have to attend live?

No, the recordings are available to catch the retreat at any time that works for you. That said, the insights of those present in live time (Wisdom Circle) is a central piece of the retreat, so if you can attend for any of the sessions in live time, that is a bonus!

Do I have to be familiar with the Divine Feminine (or Sophia) to attend?

Not at all.  This retreat is designed for those just beginning to get to know the Divine Feminine, as well as those seeking a deeper dive.  We gain a lot by the Wisdom of one another, so wherever you are on the spectrum of relationship with Her is totally fine and welcome!

What if I have some serious wounding from Christianity?

We will be diving into some central stories from Christianity, so if you're triggered by that, this might not be the best place for you.  However, if you sense there are some wounds there ready to be healed, engaging these stories anew with Mother Mary's love could be just the medicine needed.  We expect each person to take full responsibility for themselves and their own healing, and we trust your capacity to do so.  Feel free to reach out if you'd like to talk this over more!
